This message begins a new series on The Letters To The Seven Churches. The first letter was to the Church of Ephesus. They were commended for their hard work and diligence to preserve the truth. The problem they had was that they had left their first love. The Greeks had a race in their Olympic games that was unique. The winner was not the runner who finished first. It was the runner who finished with his torch still lit. Jesus was telling the Church at Ephesus that their flame had gone out. It’s one thing to finish, it’s another to finish with the flame still burning. Just as the Ephesians were reminded, we need to finish with our torch burning with passion for Jesus.
