This is our third service in the Advent of Christmas Series. We are told in Scripture that an angel appeared to the shepherds keeping watch over their flock at night. After the angel left they went and discovered that it was exactly as they had been told. Luke in chapter 2 verse 20 says, “And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.” They were certainly full of joy. As we make our way through the New Testament we find in Hebrews 12:2 a reference to Jesus, who became the Great Shepherd, “who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” This message brings us to the great truth that, we are the Shepherd’s joy.
