The letter we are looking at today is addressed to a church that was being influenced by someone that Jesus even called Jezebel. The Church of Thyatira was mostly following Jesus. He even praised them by saying, “I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first.” Yet they were also doing things that they should not have been. The pressure of society and the lies of someone within their congregation was causing them to compromise. As in some of the other letters, Jesus encourages them to hold on because in the end it will be worth it all.
